Like most days, it is hard to accomplish everything that needs to get done in the evening. My girls are English Language Learners and schoolwork is sometimes difficult for them. So I usually spend a couple hours helping with homework, throw in a load or two of laundry(I no longer have a laundry day–everyday is laundry day), get dinner, do dishes, and then do a variety of other things depending on the day.

Today the other things were–getting immunizations for the two older girls, going to a therapist appointment for the younger, and stopping at the store to get something for Nachos for tonight’s dinner. When we got home, there was a dead bird and feathers all over one of the girl’s bedroom. Xingxing, our kitty, seems to think he needs to bring his prizes into the house to show us all what he has caught.

Finally, after we watched American Idol, it was bedtime and the girls all got into bed and I had a few minutes to myself. It is wonderful to have these few minutes every day to unwind.

I went to a band concert tonight. One of my 6th grade daughters plays the flute and the other plays the clarinet. It was a beautiful concert and I love watching my daughters. Sometimes I can feel them watching me as much as I watch them. They search the audience making sure I am there and that my eyes are on them. For most of their lives they haven’t had someone in the audience watching only them and even after years of looking for my eyes, they still search.
